Family history and genealogy research on both my ancestors & my ex-husband's ancestors, with personal memories, family photographs, old maps, and more. Ancestors from Northern Ireland, Northern England, Midlands England, Germany, and the Netherlands: all immigrants to North America, from very early 1600s onwards. Pilgrims to Palatines, finding my roots is a big adventure!

Welcome!
Family, friends, and others - I hope you enjoy these pages about our ancestors and their lives. Genealogy has become somewhat of an obsession, more than a hobby, and definitely a wonderful mystery to dig into and discover. Enjoy my writing, and contact me at celia.winky at gmail dot com if you have anything to add to the stories. ... Celia Lewis

Awesome picture. Your expression alone carries its own blog post!
This picture reminds of a Shirley Temple movie. She was about that age tap dancing for US soldiers..... Very Nice keep sake
Thanks Christine! I suspect this picture would be only the 3rd time I'd seen my Dad since I was born. Halifax was a long ways away from Vancouver BC.
Thank you! My Mom used to use rags to make ringlets of my very curly hair, trying to keep it under control. Too bad I never learned tapdancing - I used to love singing, though. :)
Oh, so cute! I recently posted a pic of me as a 2 year old, but my knees were chubbier than yours. At least we stayed upright for the photos. My hair was dead straight, so I had it kept short for the sake of tidiness until I started "really" objecting to the hairdresser :-)
